If a slave is given the provisions of the world and all that is in it, and he were to then say 'al-hamdulillah' (praise and thanks be to Allah), then the fact that Allah inspired him to give thanks is a greater blessing than him being given the world.
This is because the delights of the world fade away whilst the rewards of giving thanks always remain.
