The hearts only find true delight and pleasure in loving Allah and drawing close to Him by doing what He loves, and this is only possible if the person turns away from every other beloved object. This is the reality of.... La ilaha ill'Allah..... and it is the religion of Ibrahim, the Khalil, and indeed, all of the Prophets and Messengers, peace and blessings be on them all.

Ibn Taymiyyah: (Majmu' Fatawa, vol. 28, 32)
At the time of death, the tongue cannot speak except, what the heart commands. Whatever is in the heart, will come out. If the heart was full of Dunya, that will speak. But, if it was full of the love of Allah, then that will speak.

Remember, your peace of mind and stillness of heart must be based on your relationship with Allah, and not the world or anyone or anything in it. If you are right with Allah, you are right.

Imam Zaid Shakir
This world cannot break you—unless you give it permission. And it cannot own you unless you hand it the keys – unless you give it your heart. And so, if you have handed those keys to dunya for a while—take them back. This isn’t the end. You don’t have to die here. Reclaim your heart and place it with its rightful owner: God.

LIFE IN THIS WORLD

What are you running after?
This Duniya?
Will you get it?
Well, the answer is “NO”!!!
But in the process, you might lose the Hereafter aswell.

"O People who take pleasure in a life that will vanish, falling in love with a fading shadow is sheer stupidity" - Ibn Al-Qayyim

"Verily the dunya is coming to an end, and the âkhirah is coming to a beginning and they both have children. So, be children of the âkhirah and don’t be children of the dunya. For verily, today there is action with no account, and tomorrow there’s account with no action."

[Related by Ibn al-Qayyim in ad-Dâ' wad-Dawâ Fasl ,15]
It will keep hurting you, until you let go and there remains nothing in the heart but Him. Once that happens you will no longer love for your own sake. Everything you want, love, or hate will be for, through and by Him.

Is Allah happy with me?

One of the great zuhhaad (ascetics) was looking for the answer to this question. How am I supposed to know if Allah is happy with me or not? How do I know where I stand?

You and I have to take a good look at how we spend our day. What does Allah have us do in 24 hours? That should be a pretty good indication as to where we stand with Allah.

If Allah has opened the door for us to earn good deeds, to build, build, and build our real estates in Jannah on a daily basis.. If He is giving us the opportunity to do good to our parents, to pray salah in the masjid, to learn, teach, and share this deen… If there are things that we are doing on a daily basis and we know for a fact that they make Allah happy, that in and of itself should give us hope. It’s not a guarantee that Allah is happy with us, but at least Allah is not surrounding us with things that displease Him. At least we are in a company, environment that we know is pleasing to Him. The guarantee will come on Judgment Day.

“Patience and Gratitude”

There is  a story  of one Shaikh who was once sitting and teaching his students. He was also a very wealthy businessman and at the time he had a fleet of ships which contained all his merchandise. While he was teaching, someone came rushing up to him and whispered something in his ear. The Shaikh remained very still for some time and then finally said "Alhamdu lillah." He then continued with his lesson. Some time later the same man returned and again whispered something to the Shaikh. Again the Shaikh went quiet and then said "Alhamdu lillah." The students then enquired from him as to what had happened. He told them that the first time the man had come and informed him that there had been a storm at sea and the entire fleet, with all his wealth, had been destroyed. He had then examined his inner condition and found that the news had not affected him in the least and that was why he had said "Alhamdu lillah." The second time he had been informed that the fleet had actually managed to survive the storm and all his wealth was saved. He then again looked to his heart and found that this news had also not affected him which was why he had uttered "Alhamdu lillah." His condition at all times was the same and the affairs of the dunya were of no concern to him.

*Comprehensive and beneficial du’aa – for the Best of Both Worlds*

Allahumma Innee As'alukal-huda, wat-tuqaa, wal-áfaafa, wal-ghinaa

Imaam as-Sa’dee (rahimahullaah) said:"This du’aa is from the most comprehensive and beneficial du’aas, since it includes asking Allaah for well-being with regards to both the Religion and the world. Thus, al-hudaa (the guidance) is beneficial knowledge, and at-tuqaa (i.e. taqwaa or piety) is righteous actions and leaving-off what Allaah and His Messenger have forbidden; and this is (asking) for correctness and well-being of a person’s Religion. For indeed, the Religion comprises of beneficial knowledge and recognizing the truth – which is guidance – and standing firm upon obedience to Allaah and His Messenger sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam – and this is piety.

And al-’afaafa (well-being and safety) and al-ghinaa (contentment and sufficiency) comprises of being safe from (the harms of) the creation and that the heart is not attached to them. And it also comprises of being contented with Allaah and what He provides, and seeking whatever will cause the heart to be satisfied with Him. So with this, happiness in this worldly life is completed, and the heart tastes true sweetness and delight – and this is a goodly life. So whosoever is granted the provisions of guidance, Piety. well-being and contentment has indeed achieved true happiness, and has acquired all that could be possibly sought after, as well as being saved from all that is dreadful and frightening."

[Bahjatul-Quloobul-Abraar (p.198)]

If you ever have time and find yourself in ease, then take advantage of prayer, to draw near to Allah; If you ever wish to speak ill a word of falsehood, then instead put in its place, a word of glorification; Because taking advantage of silence is better than speaking frequently, even if you are eloquent in speech.

Ibn Al-Mubarak (rahimahullah)

Death (mawt) is enough as an admonition; certainty (yaqeen) is enough as richness; and worship (ibadah) is enough as an occupation.

Umar Ibn Al Khattaab (radi Allahu ánhu) [Jaami-ul Uloom Wal-Hikam: page: 308]

Jafar ibn Abu Talib’s Speech to the Negus

The Muslims were forced out of their land because of the persecution of the polytheist Arabs, who tortured them because they said, “our Lord is one”. The Prophet Muhammad (صلي الله عليه وسلم) commanded the Muslims to migrate to Abysynnia, to live under the Negus, a just ruler. The Polytheists refused to let them leave peacefully, and confronted the king to demand the return of the Muslims. Jafar was chosen as the spokesperson for the Muslims to the king.

He said:

O King, we were a people in a state of ignorance and immorality, worshipping idols and eating the flesh of dead animals, committing all sorts of abomination and shameful deeds, breaking the ties of kinship, treating guests badly, and the strong among us exploited the weak. We remained in this state until Allah sent us a Prophet, one of our own people, whose lineage, truthfulness, trustworthiness, and integrity were well-known to us.

He called us to worship Allah alone, and to renounce the stones and the idols which we and our ancestors used to worship besides Allah.

He commanded us to speak the truth, to honor our promises, to be kind to our relations, to be helpful to our neighbors, to cease all forbidden acts, to abstain from bloodshed, to avoid obscenities and false witness, and not to appropriate an orphan’s property nor slander chaste women.

He ordered us to worship Allah alone and not to associate anything with him, to uphold Salat, to give Zakaah, and fast in the month of Ramadan.

We believed in him and what he brought to us from Allah, and we follow him in what he has asked us to do and we keep away from what he forbade us from.

Thereupon, O King, our people attacked us, visited the severest punishment on us, to make us renounce our religion and take us back to the old immorality and the worship of idols.

They oppressed us, made life intolerable for us, and obstructed us from observing our religion. So we left for your country, choosing you before anyone else, desiring your protection and hoping to live in Justice and in peace in your midst.

The Negus was impressed and was eager to hear more. He asked Jafar, “Do you have with you something of what your Prophet brought concerning God?” “Yes,” replied Jafar.

“Then read it to me,” requested the Negus. Jafar, in his rich, melodious voice, recited for him the first portion of Surah Maryam, which deals with the story of Jesus and his mother Mary.

On hearing the words of the Quran, the Negus was moved to tears. To the Muslims, he said: “The message of your Prophet and that of Jesus came from the same source…” To Amr and his companion (the men who were trying to convince the Negus to hand over the Muslims), he said: “Go. For, by God, I will never surrender them to you.”

Every single night our soul is taken, and every single night the Angel asks before bringing it back, “Ya Allah, what about this one? Do You want to send it back? Do You want to pull the plug or should we keep the rûh (soul)?” And every night Allah gives permission to the Angel to let us live one more time.

*POETRY*

A Book that makes you cry.
A Book that makes you notice,
How much harder you can try.

A Book that makes you realize,
What true love really is...

A Book that gives you direction,
for all of life’s tough biz.

A Book that gives you hope,
that Someone somewhere is watching over you.

A Book that helps you out,
Through all the times your blue.

A Book that was revealed to our beloved Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم
over a period of 23 years,

Once you put faith into this Book,
You can handle worldly fears.
A gift sent down from Heaven,
A treasure from above,
Written proof that shows us

How blessed we are with Allah's love!

Countries around the world have invented so many holidays and special days in order to keep people buying and consuming all year long, every month of the year, including holidays that don't even exist in their holy books, yet some Muslims have went and copied those holidays in their countries, either as shop owners who want to make extra money, or as consumers who have an empty life that is lacking purpose, and want to fill it with as many artificial "special" moments as possible.

As a Muslim, my life is full with 5 special moments a day (Salah), a weekly special holiday 50 times a year (Jum'aa), special days of fasting (Mondays, Thursdays, 13, 14, 15, Arafa, Ashoura), and special times of celebration (1 day Fitr, and 4 days Adha), a total of over 100+ special days a year, more than any other religion, and in case you think our life is all worship and no fun, you should probably see the countless of Halal hobbies and pleasures that Allah has created for us that I as a Muslim practice, Alhamdulilah!

"Allah does not charge a soul except [with that within] its capacity. It will have [the consequence of] what [good] it has gained, and it will bear [the consequence of] what [evil] it has earned.
O our Lord, do not impose blame upon us if we have forgotten or erred.
Our Lord, and lay not upon us a burden like that which You laid upon those before us.
Our Lord, and burden us not with that which we have no ability to bear. And pardon us; and forgive us; and have mercy upon us. You are our protector, so give us victory over the disbelieving people."

[Surah Al Baqarah 2:286]

===A Beautiful Description Of Paradise!===

“And if you ask about its ground and its soil, then it is of musk and saffron.

And if you ask about its roof, then it is the Throne of the Most Merciful.

And if you ask about its rocks, then they are pearls and jewels.

And if you ask about its buildings, then they are made of bricks of gold and silver.

And if you ask about its trees, then it does not contain a single tree except that its trunk is made of gold and silver.

And if you ask about its fruits, then they are softer than butter and sweeter than honey.

And if you ask about its leaves, then they are softer than the softest cloth.

And if you ask about its rivers, then there are rivers of milk who’s taste does not change, and rivers of wine that is delicious to those who drink it, and rivers of honey that is pure, and rivers of water that is fresh.

And if you ask about their food, then it is fruits from whatever they will choose, and the meat of whatever birds they desire.

And if you ask about their drink, then it is tasnim, ginger, and kafur.

And if you ask about their drinking cups, then they are crystal-clear and made of gold and silver.

And if you ask about its shade, then a fast rider would ride in the shade of one of its trees for a hundred years and not escape it.

And if you ask about its vastness, then the lowest of its people would have within his kingdom and walls and palaces and gardens the distance that would be travelled in a thousand years.

And if you ask about its tents and encampments, then one tent is like a concealed pearl that is sixty miles long.

And if you ask about its towers, then they are rooms above rooms in buildings that have rivers running underneath them.

And if you ask about how far it reaches into the sky, then look at the shining star that is visible, as well as those that are far in the heavens that the eyesight cannot possibly reach.

And if you ask about the clothing of its inhabitants, then they are of silk and gold.

And if you ask about its beds, then its blankets are of the finest silk laid out in the highest of its levels.

And if you ask about the faces of its inhabitants and their beauty, then they are like the image of the Moon.

And if you ask about their age, then they are young ones of 33 years in the image of Adam, the father of humanity.

And if you ask about what they will be hearing, then it is the singing of their wives from among the Hur al-’Ayn, and better than that are the voices of the Angels and the Prophets, and better than that is the

Speech of the Lord of the Worlds.

And if you ask about their servants, then they are young boys of everlasting youth who resemble scattered pearls.

And if you ask about their brides and wives, then they are young and full-breasted and have had the liquid of youth flow through their limbs; the Sun runs along the beauty of her face if she shows it, light shines from between her teeth if she smiles; if you meet her love, then say whatever you want regarding the joining of two lights; he sees his face in the roundness of her cheek as if he is looking into a polished mirror, and he sees the brightness from behind her muscles and bones; if she were to be unleashed upon the World, she would fill what is between the Heavens and the Earth with a beautiful wind, and the mouths of the creation would glorify, praise, and exclaim greatness, and everything between the East and the West would be adorned for her, and every eye would be shut from everything but her, and the light of the Sun would be outshone just as the light of the Sun outshines the light of the stars, and everyone on the face of the Earth would believe in the Ever-Living, the One who Sustains and Protects all the exists.
And the covering on her head is better than the World and all that is in it, and she does not increase with age except in beauty; free from an umbilical cord, childbirth and menses, and pure of mucous, saliva, urine and other filthy things; her youth never fades, her clothing is never worn out, no garment can be created that matches her beauty, and no one who is with her can ever become bored; her attention is restricted to her husband, so she desires none but him, just as his attention is restricted to her so she is the sole object of his desire, and he is with her in utmost safety and security, as none has touched her before of either humans or Jinn.

And if you ask about the Day of Increase (in reward) and the visit of the all-Mighty, all-Wise, and the sight of His Face – free from any resemblance or likeness to anything – as you see the Sun in the middle of the day and the full Moon on a cloudless night, then listen on the day that the caller will call: ‘O People of Paradise! Your Lord – Blessed and Exalted – requests you to visit Him, so come to visit Him!’ So they will say: ‘We hear and obey!’

Until, when they finally reach the wide valley where they will all meet – and none of them will turn down the request of the caller – the Lord, Blessed and Exalted – will order His Chair to be brought there. Then, pulpits of light will emerge, as well as pulpits of pearls, gemstone, gold, and silver. The lowest of them in rank will sit on sheets of musk, and will not see what those who are on the chairs above them are given. When they are comfortable where they are sitting and are secure in their places, and the caller calls: ‘O People of Paradise! You have an appointment with Allah in which He wishes to reward you!’ So they will say: ‘And what is that reward? Has He not already made our faces bright, made our scales heavy, entered us into Paradise, and pushed us away from the Fire?’

And when they are like that, all of a sudden a light shines that encompasses all of Paradise. So, they raise their heads, and, behold: the Compeller – Exalted is He, and Holy are His Names – has come to them from above them and amazed them and Said: ‘O People of Paradise! Peace be upon you!’ So, this greeting will not be responded to with anything better than: ‘O Allah! You are Peace, and from You is Peace! Blessed are You, O possessor of Majesty and Honor!’ So the Lord – Blessed and Exalted – will Laugh to them and Say: ‘O People of Paradise! Where are those who used to obey Me without having ever seen Me? This is the Day of Increase!’

So, they will all give the same response: ‘We are pleased, so be Pleased with us!’ So, He will Say: ‘O People of Paradise! If I were not Pleased with you, I would not have made you inhabitants of My Paradise! So, ask of Me!’ So, they will all give the same response: ‘Show us Your Face so that we may look at it!’ So, the Lord – Mighty and Majestic – will remove his covering and will amaze them and will cover them with His Light, which, if Allah – the Exalted – had not Willed not to burn them, would have burned them.
And there will not remain a single person in this gathering except that his Lord – the Exalted – will speak to him and say: ‘Do you remember the day that you did this and that?’ and He will remind him of some of his bad deeds in the Worldy life, so he will say: ‘O Lord! Will you not forgive me?’ So, He will say: ‘Of course! You have not reached this position of yours (in Paradise) except by my forgiveness.’
So, how sweet is this speech to the ears, and how cooled are the righteous eyes by the glance at His Noble Face in the Afterlife…

“Some faces that Day will be shining and radiant, looking at their Lord… [al-Qiyamah; 22-23]

['Hadi al-Arwah ila Bilad al-Afrah'; p. 193]

I would love to have already met my Lord had it not been for three blessings in this world,

1) to prostrate my forehead on the ground before Him;
2) to sit in gathering that favor the good word, which is like opting for the better of dates on a platter;
3) for the opportunity to fight in His cause, to proclaim His word, and to establish His religion on earth
